The Pi Network community has made substantial strides towards meeting the requirements for Open Network. Over 12 million Pioneers have completed identity verification through Pi KYC, and 5.79 million users have migrated to the Mainnet, demonstrating the network’s growing readiness for large-scale operations. Additionally, 70 real, distinct Pi apps are now Mainnet or Mainnet-ready, catering to various utility needs within the ecosystem.

To streamline the process for users, Pi Network announced on June 7, 2024, that theyoptimized the Mainnet Checklist.

Dr. Chengdiao Fan, Pi Founder and Head of Product, emphasized the pivotal role of community collaboration in achieving these milestones.

“Our path to Open Network relies on the global Pi community. The Core Team, community developers, and Pioneers everywhere are working collaboratively to reach this milestone in 2024. We remain on track due to the incredible contributions and innovations from our community,”

said Dr. Chengdiao Fan, Pi Founder and Head of Product.

Countdown to Open Network: What’s Next for Pi Network?

As Pi Network approaches its Open Network phase, focus intensifies on meeting final prerequisites. The Pi Core Team has outlined key milestones: achieving 15 million KYC-verified users, migrating 10 million users to the Mainnet, and integrating 100 real Pi apps on the Mainnet. These targets aim to ensure a secure and robust ecosystem before the network fully opens.

In the coming months, Pi Network will accelerate efforts to meet these benchmarks. With over 12 million KYC-verified users (up from 9.45 million in March) and 5.79 million users already migrated to Mainnet, significant progress is evident. Enhancements in the KYC process are expected to streamline and expedite verification processes.

Concurrently, ongoing technical enhancements such as updates to the Mainnet migration process and innovations like the Fireside Forum and Pi Ad Network are attracting more developers to create valuable applications. These efforts are critical as Pi Network strives to achieve its Open Network goals by the end of 2024.
