Billionaire Elon Musk has announced a ban on Apple devices at his companies if Apple integrates OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its operating systems. Musk stated this in a June 10 post on X, calling the integration an “unacceptable security violation.” He also mentioned that visitors to Tesla, SpaceX, and his other companies would need to have their Apple devices “stored in a Faraday cage” upon entry.

During Apple’s 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference, the company introduced “Apple Intelligence,” a suite of new generative AI features set to be rolled out to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia later in the year. One key feature will allow Siri to relay user questions to ChatGPT, providing responses generated by OpenAI’s GPT-4o.
